Who makes decent, but not too expensive, magazine conversion for a Remington 700?

What are the best mags to get?

Thanks

I'm not a precision bolt-gunner, but I hear good things researching this guy...

He makes bottom metal for a variety of rifles, so they can take AICS mags. 5 and 10 rounders.

For an LA 700 the Kwik Klip gets decent reviews. Not battle quality but if no one shoots back at you on the range or you don't have to do a 3 mile stalk to get into shooting position, it works fine according to guys that have it.

They don't make a SA version though.

Cabelas carries it and other places too.

I like the look of that Precision Gun Works conversion.
The 10 round mag looks very cool. BUT, it's hard to believe a precision rifle operator would have much use for that.
Except during an active firefight. Maybe.

The Badger is the only model I've heard works all the time, no matter what - but you sure pay for it. I've heard many good reviews (and some bad ones) of the HS Precision models, but they are almost as much as the Badger and many are boycotting them currently...

There's another alternative, if you're looking just for more capacity, and for just $20 plus shipping.

Arms Tech out of Arizona sells Xtender floor plates for LA and SA Remington 700s. SA capacity goes up to 9 rounds. LA capacity is bumped up to 7. Here's the price on Midway...

Made from Zytel, apparently, but unless you're hittin' and rollin', it should stand up to range use.

This one from midway is interesting- is the Remmy 700 LTR in .308 long action or short action? I'm not that knowledgeable about bolt guns, the LTR is the only one I have and rarely shoot it.

The best is Remington. They make factory 700's with removable mags. These models are identified by having DM in the Id number on the box. Like Remington 700 308 DM. What is slick is all you need to do the conversion I believe is the trigger guard, and mag. Call Remington custom shop and ask them. You have to inlet the stock some I think.

I've seen many factory rem magazines of these types that are not reliable. That is why I think Remington dropped them from their line up.
