Hey any of you RKI's have the measurements needed to have a machine shop mod my L1A1 bolt carrier to work with an IZZy Charging handle?
Thanks for the info

I have never found the Idea of forcing a cartridge into a chamber to be a good Idea. If it doesn't go in, perhaps there is a good reason, and forcing it in could be disasterous.

I technically agree with you FFE, not a good idea to force what doesn't want to go.

But there was a reason the M16 became the M16A1. A bazzillion units later, I notice this feature has not been dropped from the AR platform. The original military adoption of the bolt action over the lever action was due to the camming action of the bolt being able to overcome crud in the rifle or ammo, both in chambering and extraction.

The stoppage could be a simple as a flyspeck of carbon, dust, whatever in the chamber or binding the bolt carrier rails. Sometimes a simple nudge can send the bolt home. I have done it myself with thumb pressure when a semi auto gets finicky. If a bump will send the bolt home, I don't see a problem. If you are stomping the cocking handle to get it home, probably not a good idea.

Someone should come along soon with the proper dimension for the cut in the bolt rail for the forward assist lug.

You can't do the cuts to an inch carrier. You must use a non-sand cut one to do the cuts.

100% correct last one of those I did I had to make a custom Izzy CH for them where the assist lug was moved forward by about .100"
