How can you tell if your butt stock / PG / hand guards are US made, or not US made?

I hate to say this, but sometimes . . . who knows???

A while back I got an el-cheapo set of Century Inch furniture, and (as I recall) the only US identification was a "C" on the handguard (I seem to remember that the cheapo buttstock was not marked at all). I guess the only way to prove that it's US made is the fact that the Brits never issued L1A1's with such crappy plastic furniture.

And then, I got an Ironwood set (buttstock and pistol grip only) and they aren't marked in any way whatsoever. People always say to hang on to your receipt when you order from Ironwood . . . except that when I received the pieces from Ironwood, the box came with NO RECEIPT, or any kind of paperwork at all.

So, how do I prove they're US made? I guess I can point out that they're made of maple, and the Brits (so far as I know) never used maple. But, if the BATFE really wanted to press me, I'd have a tough time "proving" anything.

Guess I'll have to hang on to the shipping box, with the UPS label showing it came from Ironwood . . . and hope that's good enough.

Wish I had a better answer for you.

You can tell by the process of elimination.

Century made the only synthetic, inch pattern, smooth (non-textured) buttstocks and pistol grips. The buttstock has no sling swivel provision. So if you have inch pattern, smooth finished synthetic furniture on your FAL, it is U.S. made from Century because there aren't any alternatives.

Century buttstocks are not marked, but the buttplate has a "C" molded on the inside.
