I just picked up a High Standard Sentinel Mk IV in 22 Mag for 275 OTD. How did I do? I seems to fit really well in my hand, and seems in very good, if not excellent, working order. I was very pleasantly surprised by the very crisp pull both in double and single action....I would guess about 9-10 lbs in double, and about 3 lbs in single. Does anyone have an idea of when it may have been made? It doesn't look like it has been fired very much at all, or if it was it was very well maintained. Thanks for your help in advance. I do have a couple of pics, but I don't know how to get them edited down enough to get the images small enough to post.

The Sentinel series are great, reliable and well designed revolvers. I have one of the .22 lr's from about 1950 - yours is much later. They sold for about $10 less than a similar S&W of the day, and while the total seems a little high to me, evvery gun in the country has gone up in price in the last few months, so I 'd say you did well. That is about the list price of a new one in the 1980's.

DON'T ever take it apart, ever - they are a unique design, and near impossible to get back together, and even a lot of gunsmiths won't be able to do it.
enjoy it.
