Been prowling the boards for about a year, first post. I have a SA58 para elite and the right side of the perm. attached flashider blew off (lack of better terms) the rifle. I was shooting winchester white box. Not a rant, just wanted to know what could have caused it and more importantly how to avoid it in the future. Rifle has close to 300 rds threw it with a mix of remington and winchester. No other problems with the gun.
Already sent the upper back to DSA for repairs and they have been pleasant to deal with.

Sounds like the muzzle-brake fractured.
We get muzzle device stories here all the time. First I've heard of the DSA loudener going T.U.
Good riddance to the loudener.
Replace the loudener with a better design that is also more sturdy.

After it happened I put it on safe and unloaded. There is no apparant damage to the barrel or crown. Kinda bummed I had to send it back to DSA as it was one of those perm. attached deals that make the barrel just over 16in. Great shooting rifle though.

DSA will take care of the issue if it was a brake defect. We would hope to never have a defective part slip through or arrive from a subcontractor, but it very rarely can happen. Rest assured it will get fixed correctly.
Thank you!

Thanks John, like I said the people I've talked to at DSA have been really helpful.
