View Full Version : Inch Tab cuts on Metric Type 1 Receiver

I am going to have a mixed up L1A1 kit put together on a DSA type 1 metric. I want the option to use the unaltered L1A1 top cover and SUIT cover with tabs.

My question is about any stability benifit, SUIT wise, to keeping the tabs and have notches to match them cut in the back of the receiver ( I know that's the more expensive part). Do the tabs offer any advantage in reducing play in a topcover mount.

Would inch tab recesses have any impact on using a metric cover at some later time?

Thanks in advance.

Answer to #1 is unless tabs and cuts are closely matched, probably not a lot of advantage, but you can use the stripper clip top cover which some see as a benefit. Answer #2 is metric covers will work just fine. Ron
