Why is a 2 piece firing pin an up grade from a single piece?
thanks,

Because the one-piece pins sometimes break right where the two-piece version is set-up as two pieces.

In other words, the ass-end sometimes snaps off.
So, the two-piece version comes pre-snapped in such a way that the firing pin is retained correctly in the bolt.
