View Full Version : Remmy 700><M1A trade value?

I'm debating putting my Remington 700 LTR .308 w/Leupold Mk III 3.5-10x40 up for trade for an M1A socom or Scout. I see prices on M1A's from $1400-$2400.
Would I be in the ballpark for a reasonable trade? Or have values gone up too fast?

I think about any FFL is going to try to get a few hundred more on top of the Remington in a trade.
Could be wrong.

I am thinking that you will be disappointed to find 900-1000 credit TOPS on a $1400-1800 rifle.
I know it's worth more. If you want top dollar, part it out to indivduals.

Ah, bummer. Never been a good trader. Traded my HK-91 for this setup when I moved back to Kalifornia back in '04. Gunsamerica guy never sent me my Harris bipod, ended up buying a clone. I should keep it, I'm just not a bolt-action type guy, don't hunt, etc.

I agree that selling the rifle and scope separately would net you the best return..
While it won't get you enough to do the M1A Straight up it will get you a good head start collecting the required fundage..
M-14/M1A's are SWEET..

Looks like you guys are about right:
$850 plus about $400 for the scope (saw one similar on eBay).....
I have an M1A NM but want a Socom or Scout to go along with it.... This LTR is ACCURATE , I've put maybe 50 rounds thru it, got it dialed into one hole at 100 yards with mid 80's SA .308! I'll hang onto it I guess.
