Thanks for posting those.
I got out the books and looked it up. This version was built in 1951 and was
apparently a tilting bolt similar to the FAL. The T44 beat it out because of
parts and appearance similarity to the M1 Garand. The Magazine has a very
close resemblance to the BM59 Magazine.

The trials to select the next service rifle for the US included several at the beginning. The original idea was to have a single rifle & caliber for all of NATO. Unfortunately it became the usual political morass.
The British fielded the EM-1 & EM-2 bullpup rifles in a short intermediate power 7mm round. The US had both an product improved M1 Garand, and a side-locking tilting bolt design from Savage arms. This was started as the T-25, but evolved into the T-47 shown. The Belgian FN was entered in a short 7mm intermediate round, & eventually emerged as the FAL in 7.62 NATO (Called the t-65 at the time)
The T-25/T 47 ended up being dropped in favour of the T-44 (M-14), the EM-2 was dropped, & the final competition was between the FN-FAL & The product improved M1, which became the M-14.

thanks , this was very enlightening ,
some of the development rifles "T" series of trials i was unaware of ,
i did realise that the US politics pushed the 762x51 onto the FAL , but i didnt realise the M14 had so many test designs ahead of it , need to do some homework ,
great photos

If you go to the Springfield Armory Musem site you can see pics of full auto Garands.
One, T-20-E2 looks like it has BAR mag hanging from it with M-14 selector and connector arm.
