How does the recoil compare to 44mag? Ben thinking of adding one to the heard.

Thank you! It's a 'Satin Stainless finish'.

A 4" is on my list of things to do, but it is way down the list right now. Nice pair!!

I bought the standard 8-3/8 inch M-500 when they first came out. I was disappointed in the recoil, I expected it to be much worse. The guns are heavy, the brake is effective and the rubber grip has an air pocket along the grip strap. The ammunition is loaded with a great range of bullet weights, and the heavier bullets do kick harder than the light ones.

I got a 4 incher like FaNaticaL's but haven't shot it yet.

The most painfully recoiling handgun I have shot is the Scandium frame S&W M-329PD, a 4 inch .44 Magnum that weighs 26 ounces. THAT sucker KICKS!

That John Ross is a very nice looking shooter! Good scores!

Thanks. The Ross PC did come with the same Houge rubber grip as the other S&W 500s and I swapped it out for the KN Nill Grips of Germany:

It's best fired with a shooting glove. Also, I like the fact it doesn't have a brake. It does have a bit more kick but the blast the brake would cause is greatly reduced. That's why I put a custom end cap on the 4" too.

Where did you get the non-ported end cap? I would like one for my 4 incher.

The end-cap is a stock item at S&W...for the .460. They don't make them for the .500, last I checked, so I bought the .460 version and modified it to fit.

What's it for?

Just askin'......seems like a powwwwerful toy......:shades: [/B]

All is answered in this article...

...the Ross PC has a faster 1:10" twist button-rifled barrel—stabilizes bullets up to 725 grains at long range or at lower velocities, and gives deepest penetration...
