This one: http://www.entreprise.com/Fal.htm
I am considering putting it on my DSA light weight Para and wonder how much recoil it cuts. Also does the flash still get suppressed?

ggiilliiee, thanks for the input. I'm looking at keeping the muzzle brake/flash suppressor as original looking as possible. That's why I like the looks of the Ent. offering. Yankee Hill has a couple as well, I know they work since they are a lot like the AR10 fs/mb they have. My bad shoulder won't take a lot of pounding that the 16", light weight lower Para offers!

ggiilliiee, when do you plan to make these? I am looking for a pure compensator, with no flash suppression. Is that what yours is?

im with ya there ssarge ...same condition here ..can shoot 308 without one ...but sure gonna regret it later ..hehe ..
....ive got a video of it going off with a close clear refference in the back ground ...moves about 1/4 linear ..crosshairs dont come off target at 400 yd gong ....have even tossed double taps on the 17 " gong at that range .....feels like a light thump on the shoulder ...thats about it ...on a short barrel it could be a bit loud ...for ya also ...but ear plugs are cheap ....
trying to moto-vate my buddy with the lathe ..ive got the mill .....just gotta get him off his ass ..hehe .. ill try harder ..
figured arond 60 -65 bucks ...might be too much ...but god do these work ...yer paying 40 for the fake ones ..not much more for real function .........
set up would be to face end of barrel for timing the slots on the brake ....doesnt take much...with the close thread form ...tpi.....brake makes a nice smooth transition to the barrel od ...no crush washer crap ...least thats is the thought so far .....
the shop i worked for is slow ...they still have my sl-25 ...lathe with live milling heads on the turret ...it wll make them in one shot ..gonna see what they are up to ....as economy is slow ....they may be able to pop some out for me .. keep ya posted guys .....
i come in peace ........
ps ...andy C knows his sheeite ...he recomends the 'dntc'brake iirc ...i beleive i shot one one time..or one verry similar ..and it wasnt too bad ...kinda loud though ...iirc ...gone thru alot of brake in my day ..stopped when i got to this type ...

here are some pics i took on video tape
(for you young guys, video tape was a thin strip of magnetic film that contained images, that old farts used to use )hehe
sorry abot the transfer ..was peddelaling as fast as i could ...hehe give ya a better idea ...use the local alluvial soils as a reference in the sepperate pics ...small white rock at the end of the brake works ..
still in the planning stages though ..im getting tooo old for this stuff ..hehe

The Muzzlebreak that SSarge linked to (The Entreprize one) is based on a U.S. Navy/Coast Guard joint design originally for the M14. It was designed to make the rifle actually useful in full-auto. While I have personally never tried this muzzle break on a .308/7.62NATO, I have tried a variant on a local Class III dealer's M16. Not that M16's are bad on full-auto, but this one was practically stationary when firing. It reminded me (a lot) of shooting an M16 hooked up to the MILES system while shooting blanks.

I suspect its effect would be fairly substantial on a 7.62NATO rifle.

Alas, we don't have those anymore
Even our Zero climb, which is much simpler and has the big holes, works pretty well. Certainly better than nothing, and I have the video to prove it.
I've tried plenty of brakes with lots of different size holes in different places, but truthfully I've found most of them to perform about the same. Granted, I've never tried one on a full auto rifle and that may be a different story, but I have yet to have tried a particular muzzle brake and thought "holy crap, that is the best muzzle brake I've ever tried!"
Maybe ggiilliiee's will be the one

for 30 bones that second comp brake looks like it would do your shoulder some good .ask em how big the exit is ...if its no bigger than .330 or so ..looks good to me ...nice big flat in front and a chamber for expansion ......;)

Yes, I have a Israeli HB with the entreprise[smith inc. type] MB. It works very well, however it will disturb those shooting next to you. I also have a Smith INC. designed brake on a short barreled M14,it makes that lightweight M14 recoil less than a full size HB M14

Thanks ggiilliiee. I have been very pleased with the .308 comp/fs they have for the AR10. It really cuts the recoil but still does well with flash suppression on my AR10 carbine.
