I've seen the repros at interordnance and I assume this is one of those.

I had asked a question about this stuff in the Got any Finns Forum but its sliding down the board. Can't really justify the price of a NDM-86 to enjoy my 54R. So, was thinking about getting a Finn or Russian and putting a scope on it.

I think that rifle in the auction is over priced IMHO, if that indeed is a repro.

Personally, I'd go with a Finn M-39.

Then if you wanted to scope it, put one of these on it.

http://www.scopemounts.com/index.html?instapics.html

Then it can be converted back to its original configuration it you wanted.

I saw the mount you were referring to,in the other thread, but I couldn't locate it on the net. It appears to be a bit more solid that the SK mount above.

Good Luck.

The price seems high.
With all the repros and fakes around, there is no particular reason to pay a lot of money for a Russian "Sniper" rifle. Unless someone can REALLY prove it is the real deal. Laminated 91/30s aren't rare or expensive. The scopes aren't all that pricey either.
Go with the M-39 Finn if you want a Mosin that will really shoot.

Wow...Thats a lot of info. Whats the going rate on those unissued M-39s?

Looks like you could spend 69.00 to 400 plus for a rifle.

Aim has refinished ones for 69.00 or 79.00 Hex.

I know the finns are supposed to be the best but dang thats a deal on a hard hitting rifle.

for the price of that repro PU you could build a PE on a rifle you know has a decent bore.

as for going price this one is $305

http://www.gunsnammo.com/30499X.htm

some receiver pitting but you have to realize the Finns built their guns from captured russian rifles, that particular one is on a pre 98 receiver so no FFL needed, it comes straight to your house.

this one is $323 100% made in 1970 on a pre 98 receiver

if your looking for a bit cheaper this one is $79 and has a mirror bore

http://www.gunsnammo.com/M-96625.htm

not pre 98 so you will have to pay transfer/callin if your not a C&R FFL

heres your scope and mount

These guns are pretty Schweet. I think I need to fire up the order fax for one from gunsammo.com

Whats the difference between the drivers license guns and the any ffl needed ones. I suppose I have to send the latter to a FFL Log book.

Thanks

FFL guns go to your dealer or to you if your a C&R, drivers license guns show up at your door via UPS/Fedex

You had kindly directed me to 30499X as to your door rifle. Is that the case?
