Jen,

It's still happening. I can access the page I was talking about, but it happens with some of the others.

What system and browser are you running?

On a Mac, which I'm using, IE will sometimes show a blank page, but Netscape will load it. I've seen that on other sites, don't recall it happening here, tho.

Standard advice would be to clear the browser cache, check the Preference settings, maybe disable scripting (temporarily to check,) restart the machine to get a fresh reload of software into RAM.

Page loaded fine for me, just tried it once. My problem was viewing my states gun laws on the link you left. It appeared to download it into a Microsoft Word document, but when the page came up, it was gibberish. What am I doing wrong. I get this alot. I know I'm 'puter illiterate, but everything seems to humming along with no problems and then NOTHING.
Thanks,
Cary

Those are PDF files. PDF = Portable Document Format. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader for those. The Reader is a free download, at this link.....

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

You'll get both the Reader application, and also a plug-in for your browser. With the plug-in, the file will open in your browser window.

If you already know about PDF files, and have the Reader, but your system is trying to handle the files as Word docs or something, well, your system settings are munged. Your system should be handling pdf files automatically. You're probably using some variety of Windows, and I'll have to hand you over to the Windows guys for how to check your file assignments, if need be.

I apparently do not have adobe acrobat on this machine. I'll try downloading it, thanks. My computer has a turn on button and that is about the extent of my prowess on here.

I'm running a Micron (IBM) system, with Windows. Pentium 733 w/640 megs RAM.
I clear my Temp Internet files on a regular basis and I HAVE to restart it ALL the time, becuase my son has about 20 gigs of games he plays and it never fails to lock something up now and then.
The white pages only happen now and then, more of a nuisance than anything.

Thanks.

okiefarmer,
You need that .PDF software. More and more people are using it. Bookmark the web site and go back and upgrade every 6 months or so.

It's likely caused by the fact that our dedicated server is already peaking it's cpu and can't keep up with the traffic.

It's likely only happening during peak browsing times between 7pm - 11pm correct?

We're doing a CPU upgrade on Friday to Dual 933MHZ processors to help resolve the problem.

No, it happens at different times, at any hour. I looked at the number of persons using the board when it happens and it always seemed to be around 90-120.
I'll record traffic and date/time when or if it happens again.

Thanks Jen.
