After laughing my ass off at this picture I saw on ar15.com

I got to thinking- in this nation of 300 million people, with (I've heard) estimated 200 million+ firearms, I want to know:

Have these guns that were always more exotic/pricey EVER

I repeat

EVER

Been used in a crime?

Stey AUG

FN FNC

GALIL (ANY MODEL!)

HK91/93

STREETSWEEPER SHOTGUN

Now, I know the TEC-9 series is small, really cheap, and has been used in gang shootings, and much talked about in rap music etc as well as the AK semi family, but in relation to the media hype surrounding these "MILITARY STYLE ASSAULT BULLET HOSES" I'd really like to know hard FBI/BATFE numbers (not "traces" either that's phony and we all know it)
I mean gangbanger car gets pulled over and there's an AUG in the back seat with spent cases all over. My point is I suspect the media hype is even bigger than any of us can imagine.

I have a tech 9 type and I have to say if there is one gun I want the bad guy to have, it's that one :D

heavy as hell, and not accurate at all.

More people are murdered by bare hands/feet a year in the U.S. than are killed by rifles (any rifle).

Don't believe me? Look up the FBI crime stats:

Because meth heads will purchase a $3000 rifle and know how to operate it, and then use it to knock over the stop-and-rob for the $30 in the register.

Right.

I had an Intra-Tech Scorpion .22 pistol back before the Klinton AWB of 1994.
It was one of the "named" weapons in the ban.
They were a total piece of crap that LOOKED evil. Mine never made it through a magazine without multiple jams. Every 2-3 shots like clockwork it jammed.
Another gun the Bad Guys SHOULD have. Just pop them while they are trying to get their gun functioning.
