View Full Version : ***RHODESIAN CAMO FAL with EXTRAS***

August 15, 2008, 14:04
I need to raise some funds so I am auctioning off my Rhodesian camo FAL.
It is an excellent condition STG58 kit that I purchased from DSA built on a Coonan type 1 receiver. Some STG parts were exchanged to make it look like a standard FN 50.00 rifle. It was built and refinished by myself and member ByronF in late 2004. The Rhodesian camo paint was purchased from NHBandit here on the FILES and applied by yours truly. There were 2 coats applied to give it that rough "done in the field" look. I like to make them as authentic as possible.
The U.S. parts are... Coonan receiver, DSA hammer/ trigger/& sear, DSA handguard, WolfburgBob pistol grip, and 1 magazine with a Falcon floorplate.

This auction will run for 1 week ending at Midnight EST on Friday August 22nd.
Some of the bidders in my previous auctions asked me to add a 5 minute rule to get rid of the "bid snipers" so that is what I'll do here too. So what that means is the auction is set to end at Midnight EST or 5 minutes after the last bid posted in this thread if the bid is posted after 2356 hours or 11:56PM on Friday, August 22nd.

Starting bid is $850 with a minimum bid amount of $10.
The shipping is on me.

Now, here's the extras from my Rhodesian Bush War collection...
1. Rhodesian camo boonie hat purchased from South Africa - I believe it is authentic. Size 61 cm?
2. Reproduction 4-cell mag bra made by member 101ABN327 and sold here on the FILES.
3. Reproduction Rhodesian camo short sleeve shirt purchased from Trident Militaria. Size 46.
4. Reproduction Rhodesian flag purchased from Trident Militaria.
5. 2 reproduction Rhodesian Army "Man Among Men" recruiting posters.

C'mon guys, someone needs to bid on this... and I'll tell you why.
After 13 years of marrage I have finally convinced my beautiful wife that she needs a firearm for self-defense and SHTF. This is a big step for her! She used to think that everybody was more or less good on the inside and besides it would never happen to her. She even told me once that she would rather be raped than have to shoot somebody... so I think you can see why this is such a big step for us and I am very excited! Unfortionately my wife thinks the FAL is too heavy for her and several years ago I decided that I wanted to wittle down my gun collection to simplify my ammo purchasing and storage problems. How was I supposed to know? So after extensive searching I've finally found a weapon that we agree upon... she even thinks it's pretty.

BUT FEAR NAUGHT!!! This is not my only FAL.
Her sacrifice, though great... is nessary and she will be surely missed... but... she will not be forgotten.
Like her sisters before her, she will hold a special place inside me.

I like the Webley.

Thanks G2! She is my favorite of the 3 that I built in 2004. She was the most accurate which is why I picked her to wear the Rhodie paint.

Thanks denny... you know that Webley could go for the right price.
