View Full Version : Log in log out

What's the deal with this? Should you log out everytime you leave or just stay logged in?

What is the exact purpose of the log in? To make it easier to make post? To let others know you are on the board?

This may have been post somewhere before but I missed it.

First off it makes it easier for you to post. By logging in you only have to type in your username and password once and not every time you want to post.

Logging out removes the cookie that stores your login session from your computer. By doing this you prevent someone else from using your computer to post using your account. If you didn't log out all they would have to do is to come to this site, click post and away they go. They could also change information in your user profile this way including your password.

If your computer is at all public or a work computer, then I highly suggest logging out to avoid someone else using your account.

If it's your home computer and you're not worried about anyone else making posts using your account, then stay logged in, it won't hurt.
