This has been reported by a couple of folks. When changing your Default Topic View (Number of Days Worth of posts displayed by default for you), the system appears to ignore your profile settings no matter how many times you change it.
Logging out does not help, however I rebooted a short while ago and suddenly my profile default topic view started working correctly. I have a few ideas on what's causing this but need to research it more to find out if there is any other solution other than rebooting.
