I picked up a used one for $400 and after 500 rounds with zero FTF/FTE and several brands of ammo I am convinced that I got a great deal. LOVE the trigger on mine and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good 1911 under $500. I had a SA 1911 milspec and I shoot the taurus bettr so I sold the SA.

Sounds like you got a helluva deal! As I understand the MSRP in the PT1911 is over $700.00 new! Nice snag.

I bought one, loved it..and like a dumbass sold it..now I'm planning on buying another! Shot great..lots of features you pay alot more for on other pistols..I understand the plant where they are built is all new and the blueprints used for that pistol are from the originals of the last year they were built for the government..tell you this.. .45 is alot more comforting than the other smaller calibres

Main reason I've considered a Taurus 1911 is because it's probably the cheapest 1911 with a rail.

Anyone have any feed issues with certain brands of magazines such as Wilson, McCormick, etc.?

Am considering a Taurus 1911, swapped my S&W for a revolver last spring, prefer them over autos, but found myself still really "needing" a 1911. A co-worker had 2, traded one off, but has had issues with magazines with both pistols. We both use McCormick mags, and I kept most of what I had from my last 1911.

Just scored another PT 1911 today, Matte finish for $499.95--$30.00 cheaper than I purchased my first one for..I am VERY pleased..fit and finish on this pistol is very good..was sitting in the back of the gunstore since August last year collecting dust..these are retailing now for $549-$575 so I scored big time..hats off to Taurus for these pistols..accurate, reliable and priced right!
May send it to ARS for a refinish just to make it bombproof against corrosion etc..we'll see
Next maybe a stainless? saw one of those on gunbroker for $635..decisions, decisions!
Nothing says fall-down with the first shot like a .45ACP
