View Full Version : Dick Heller rejected for a firearm again.

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- District residents can start registering their guns today. But at least one very high profile application was already rejected.
Dick Heller is the man who brought the lawsuit against the District's 32-year-old ban on handguns. He was among the first in line Thursday morning to apply for a handgun permit.
But when he tried to register his semi-automatic weapon, he says he was rejected. He says his gun has seven bullet clip. Heller says the City Council legislation allows weapons with fewer than eleven bullets in the clip. A spokesman for the DC Police says the gun was a bottom-loading weapon, and according to their interpretation, all bottom-loading guns are outlawed because they are grouped with machine guns.
Besides obtaining paperwork to buy new handguns, residents also can register firearms they've had illegally under a 180-day amnesty period.
Though residents will be allowed to begin applying for handgun permits, city officials have said the entire process could take weeks or months.

I wonder if he can sue for money damages at this point. These monkeys running
DC are a disgrace to humanity. Charleton Heston is rolling around in his grave.

As he was the Plaintiff in the action against DC and SCOTUS ruled in his favor, I think he should immediately file a civil rights suit against DC.

Which they can quietly offer a settlement (paid for by public tax-debt), then slap a gag order on him.
THEN, they will get right back to business ignoring the SCOTUS decision...

The NRA told everyone that the Heller case would solve nothing. Here is the proof.
Heller is just the start.

In my county I've seen an old judge jail a man who put his hat on as he exited the courtroom, (contempt of court/24 hours in county jail) and fine/jail a guy who showed up for jury duty selection with alcohol on his breath...
...But SCOTUS is letting DC just walk all over their decision, and our RKBA. Sounds like contempt of supreme court to me, and clearly unconstitutional.
I think it's past time for litigation. The Founders would tar and feather the entire DC leadership and have them run out of town on a rail.

Heller is clearly a terrorist and against the women and children. He is also a racist who wants to shoot persons of color who might accidently seek refuge inside his domicile.
Heller wanted to have a "bottom loader"....what more proof do you need?
Quick Update: Someone I know was at the Metropolitan Police Dept this morning and watched Dick Heller start the registration process on his revolver (he has a revolver and the .45 semi-auto that was "rejected" yesterday).
His words, "I saw Heller, he had his revolver with him and started the registration process. They tested his gun and gave it back to him and he has to get his paperwork notarized then bring it back for the rest to occur".
Thought I'd put this out there as it looks like Heller isn't being denied with the revolver.

What I like is the seven rounds in the "bottom loading" magazine.
CAN EVERYBODY SAY 1911!
Hopefully it dates from the first world war and that will make them look even more foolish.

Actually it was hanging except in one story arising out of the abortive attempt at empire by Arron Burr that a man was exiled into the care of the U.S. Navy.
I don't know if the story is true, but it does have a great moral, be careful of what you ask for, you might just get it.
You can read the story in "A man without a Country".

My favorite aspect of Arron Burr was the fact that he beat Hamilton in a duel. Too bad he didn't do it before Hamilton started his corrupting influence on the federal government. If he had got him before the federalist papers, that would have been best.

How many pistols that hold twelve rounds aren't "bottom loading"? I guess Mr. Heller needs a Broomhandle Mauser.

my first thought when I read this news story.
The first story I read about Mr Heller getting rejected said that the DC police required him to bring the gun in for inspection, and he did not bring it, on advice from his lawer. He did not want to be arrested for carrying a gun in the city. The list of rules in DC is so insane.
-The police must "inspect" and "test" your gun. This takes about 3-5 days
-You have to pass a written test. I think there was a range test too.
-You need to be figerprinted
-You must submit 2 passport sized photos with your application
-you need a not from your doctor that says your eyesight is acceptalbe to use a gun.
This all just to keep a handgun in your home. It still has to be stored locked, disassembled and unloaded. You can't load or unlock it unless your are in "immediate" danger.

Cool - let's see DC apply those rules to all armed security-personnel in the town, then.
You are right, all of those hoops you have to jump through still equate to a major infringement of the right!

No government employee can "own" any of these items either. Those toys are property of the government. They just happen to be in the possession of government employees supposedly while in the performance of their duties.

The question is, what about the government allows it to anoint its employees with the superior character and super-human abilities that mere citizens do not possess. What makes a person who has donned the mantle of government capable of operating tools that they previously were unfit to hold. We need to ask ourselves why there is a double standard. Why, if common man is supposedly unable to control his base instincts and be trusted to own any number of tools, the minute he joins the rank of the government, he is immediately enlightened and therefore qualified. Have we not seen that in government, the turds rise to the top? Seems to me that the government should be restricted in what it may field, not the property respecting citizen.
republic
P.S. We should also ask why we should allow the citizen to elect his own representatives if he is so incapable of being trusted in any number of other areas. Either he is capable of making informed and rational decisions and actions, or he is not. Where legislation grows, the will for self restraint atrophies.

Andy,
In my past life I was an armored car driver and had a Special Police commission issued by the District.
I was required to qualify yearly just like the local police at one of their approved instructor's courses of fire.
I had thirteen different hand gun permits or police commissions at one time as I hauled items of value a crossed the country.
We could only carry weapons that had been registered with DC in 1975 or 1976.
My personal model 66 Smith was not allowed as it was not registered, so it stayed in the truck while working stops within the District.
The stupid part of this exercise with Heller is that he already has a SPO permit issued by DC which has a whole lot tighter restrictions than what the government is enforcing here.
The disassembled or trigger lock portion of the law was also ruled against, so Heller needs to go back to court and hand the DC government another black eye.
DC is setting them up for another suit by Heller, but this time it's going to cost someone their job and the citizens of DC lots of money.

The morons in DC should be put in prison...
And forced to pay reparations to all whose constitutional rights they've violated...

For those interested, here is the complete list of FFL holders in the Dictrict of Corruption.
Note how Alan Sugarmann the president of VPC has an active FFL on file using the same address as VPC.
Per the information that I received from BATFE, in order to get a license you had to be in the business to make a profit, had to keep regular hours of operation in order to receive shipments, have zoning approved with the local government for the business activity and lastly, could not share an address with another business.
It might be interesting to file a complaint with your local Congressman as to why Sugarmann can have a FFL, but you were turned down when you applied.

Sugarmann's first name is Josh. He is also the author of 2 books that really are nothing more than pulp. One is titled "NRA: Money, Firepower, Fear" and "Every Handgun Is Pointed At You"(with some subtitle). The first is pretty much the standard bag of lies and distortions--Even the photo section is rediculous: All the NRA heads or spokespersons (of the past or at that time)are altered to lool like the viewer is having hallucinations around them--the most normal photo is of Wayne LaPierre that is somewhat diffused. I can only guess it was to have the readership have some old flashbacks about those squares that have all the power.
