Well that didnt take long.
Ironic that they fired an employee for excercising his 2nd ammedment rights on the 4th of July.

Disney may have a legitimate out.

They hold an Explosives licence (fireworks) which is one of the laws exemptions.

Yeah, if the story is accurate, I don't see where he has a case.

Not to say that I agree with Disney's policy, but using the force of law to tell others (individuals or corporations) what they may do on their property seems to me to be the abrogation of one right for the benefit of another.

What's interesting, is that several states now have these bring your gun to work laws. I wonder how Disney found out about the gun if it was locked in his trunk? Personally, I wouldn't go bragging about having a gun in the trunk, legal or otherwise. Drawing attention to oneself is never a good idea.

thats how it was suppose to be, but at the last hour, they added language to allow anyone that had an explosives permit, wether in use or not, to be exempt.

If Disney can not rely on their security employees to have firearms in their car trunks then there is a problem with their HR. If there is such a concern over their fireworks and it being hijacked, why don't they hire class G security personell. Mr Sotomayors lawyers have to point out that Disneys basis for impeding on a employees rights is just a loop hole for them, nothing to do with reality and facts on the ground.
Anyone know how we can get court transcripts for this case and get in touch with the NRA defense team.

BTW, was there ever a employee meeting conducted by disney after this law was passed and before it went into effect stating "we have fireworks and an explosives license so we don't fall under this new law." Did the company ever make such a statement before causing trouble for this employee. "Did they just say we don't want any guns period" which would establish a simple attitude of being confrontational to a law that doesn't suite you.

What's this? I thought Disney was all about freedom of chioce and personal rights. Look at the droves of pole smokers that call Disney their "go to" butt buddy destination. I guess guns and homosexuality are incompatible?
