Keep the pressure on! If you are within driving distance of the "peoples Republik" you need to support this...

My son lives in Chicago. He got laid off. I am paying his credit card and student load bills. He is going. His dad said so. ;)

I'll be there since I work across the street. Should be fun hearing Daley's veins popping on the opposite side of the street!

Hmm… the serfs rebel. (I’m a serf too!) With the recent pro 2A cases lately (Heller, Kasler in CA, etc…) and the end of the ’94 AW ban, I wonder how the antis feel in places like Chicago, San Fran, D.C etc... I imagine they are feeling like they are slowly losing their grasp on control. I love it!

ORD is in the City via "strip annexing"

I work in downtown Chicago, so I'll be there along with some of the guys I work with. Given what I'm reading on the various forums, it should be a good turnout.

I'm getting kind of amped up for this thing.

For sure Jesse and Pflegger will show.

I'll be intersted to see how the city handles it.

I'll take pics.

I'll be there around 12 Noon with a few other folks that I work with. We're about a 10-15 minute walk away so we'll be there as soon as we can!! This is going to be fun...

Me... :shades: Daley...

Just returned from the rally. There was definitely a great turnout! The speakers were excelent! I took some pictures that I will post once I get home from work. You may be able to see the smoke coming from Daley's 5th floor office in City Hall. Hope these turn into an annual event!

Yep, there was a good 200-300 people there, and people were coming and going. I took a couple of phone pictures...I'll see about getting those off my phone later.

I shook Tony Peraica's hand after he spoke and thanked him for coming out. I hope he runs for Cook County President again...I think he'll win next time, given the current corrupt county status.

I went to the big 2nd Amendment rally in Chicago Today. I met up with a couple other freedom loving Americans ( they may even be members here) and we saw a couple of things. Thats for sure.

I have no Idea of the headcount but it had to be close to 500. It was an odd shaped space so it was hard to judge.

Cisco Cotto from WIND was the host.

First up was Valinda Rowe who got things started with some crowd pleasing facts about the positive advancement of 2nd Amendment issues in the past year.

The order was kind of a blur to me after that. Ther were some ISRA guys. An NRA Guy ( I think).

Then Susanna Hupp ( she's a chiropractor...I'm not calling her Doctor.)
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/Rotor_/RKBA/Chicago%20Rally%2008/th_Hupp41.jpg (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/Rotor_/RKBA/Chicago%20Rally%2008/Hupp41.jpg)

She told her story (as we have all heard before). It's a good one. The crowd was rapt as she went into excruciating detail.

After that there were more speakers. Apologies to them for not remembering all their names. There was even a letter from our state association pres who was at Camp Perry ( Ahem!!!)

Here's Andy showing us what he thinks of that

The candidate for Cook County Atty, Tony Peracia, spoke about the evils of professional Chicago politicians.

The crowd roared like a lion.

The guy who started the Pink Pistols was even there.

It was capped off with the new Chicago 4. The plaintiffs in the new law against the city for failing to allow handguns to be registered.

All in all it was great day. We could feel the proximity to city hall behind us. In fact it was keeping us cool with it's shade, never mind the chill radiating of all the ice in mayor Daley's wet bar. This is as close as John wanted to get.

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/Rotor_/RKBA/Chicago%20Rally%2008/th_JohnCityhall.jpg (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/Rotor_/RKBA/Chicago%20Rally%2008/JohnCityhall.jpg)

The city got the last laugh though. John learned the hard way why you never take your bike south of Chicago Avenue...........

I mean, everyone knows what will happen.....

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51/Rotor_/RKBA/Chicago%20Rally%2008/JohnBike.jpg

Oh The horror......

I think he got home safe.

maybe next year, I should be one of the speakers..

"Hi, my name is XXX, I used to live in Illinois. Now I live in Texas and I buy a few guns every month, AND have a CHL too!" The crowd would roar!!

"Mayor Daly, tear down this LAW"..

Juanni,

2000 was not a good year. Harrott over ruled portions of the Kassler court ruiling. Basically, Harrott said the state can not ban ARs and AKs by saying "series". You have to list the make AND model to ban an AW. What that did is allow AR and AKs that are not specifically named/listed by make/model to once again be imported as long as they complied w/SB23 regulations. 100,000+ new AWs have come in since this. It is a baby step and many people laugh at the way in which we have to configure our rifles but… something is better than nothing and we are slowly getting certain 2A rights back and there will be newer court cases coming up that are specifically targeting getting more rights back.

Sean

P.S. Better to fight it here than have it come to a town near you.
