money's really no object to the buyer in this context, however time is.
*where do i point him for a really nice 1973 model Colt Detective Special?
*something minty and maybe even custom shop (did they then?) will probably be the ticket...
*can you get month specific with these just by the serial? doubt it, just curious.
help's greatly appreciated.

Best bet is to haunt the auction sites.
If I might ask, why a "1973 model"? His year of birth? Or introduction of specific features?

his daughter was just assigned as a homicide detective. i suggested a Dick special @her DOB as a congratulatory gift. now it's my job to find one...

1966 and 1972 were dates of key changes to the D Frame Colts.
1966 the short grip frame of the Agent was made standard throughout the D Frame series.
1972 the shrouded ejector rod was added.
My "feeling puny days" carry is a mid 70's Agent with Tyler T-Grip. Definately Old School...
