If you have a reciever cut for the folding inch charging handle will it also accept non folding inch charging handles? Is there such a beast?

And are inch and metric top covers interchangeable?

Thankye

I do not know of a non-folding inch handle but since I cut my metric Imbel to accept the inch folding handle it will of course still accept a metric non-folder. Some receiers will be a bit tight in the handle slot area and require thinning of the charging handle for it to function freely. A true inch receiver factory cut for the folding handle would not have the detent at the front that a metric handle uses but this can be dealt with also.

Inch and metric top covers are not interchangable per se. The metric cover will fit on an inch receiver but the tabs on the back of an inch cover would prevent it from being used on a metric receiver. The tabs can be trimmed off of course (Century type gunsmithing  ) and then the inch cover would fit on the metric receiver.

I mix and match inch and metric parts per my own tastes and my favorite FAL/L1A1 configuration is basically an inch top end with mag well cut for metric mags (yes there was such a beast) on a metric or Indian lower set up with inch Hythe rear sight & inch mag release and safety.
