I bought a 10/22 and have ordered an aluma-lite barrel for it and a Bell & Carlson stock.
I also ordered a 25 rd. magazine to test.
I have been told that stoning on the hammer and sear would reduce trigger pull. Anyone done that? What is involved?
Thanks,

There are stickies over at www.rimfirecentral.com that cover the JB weld trigger job. Take your time and it works wonders on a stock trigger. Doesn't reduce pull weight much but cleans up the pull dramatically. There are instructions on where/how to stone as well.

+1 on the RFC stickies, I did the polish on my 10/17 and it is pretty straight forward. I figured if I screwed something up I could always buy replacements.
if you're willing to spend the money for an expensive barrel and nice stock that a few bucks for a hammer and shim kit would be a drop in the bucket.
On a 10/22 the hammer is the piece that makes all the difference. Once again rimfire central is heaven for .22s.

Stone and shims really help. Shims alone just for taking out slop does wonders - I do this to every Mosin I get and can't get over how much it helps.

Yes, it works.
Ruger trigger group is easy to take apart and reassemble. In fact, it will take itself apart if you let it.
I use 400, 600, 1000, 1500 wet or dry sandpaper with a mix of oil and naptha (1 to 2) as a medium to polish the surfaces. Use a cork sanding block. Hand polish with Maguirs #2 Cleaner/polisher. Oil to suit.
Makes a huge difference in trigger pull and smoothness.
Just my opinion....
