View Full Version : IL to seize your guns if anyone under 21 touches a bullet or gun...
If anyone under 21 gains access to a gun, or a bullet, that is/was in your home, IL will revoke your FOID card and seize your arms, under a proposed new bill. No judge no jury.

How would they know? Would it be like a children and family services 'anonymous callers' that ruin families without ever knowing the accuser? The police doth arriveth it appears. The Gestapo was even more subtle. I just don't see that standing up to any judiciary review in the legislative process. One can only hope, but it IS Cook county. Heck, aldermen can write their own laws, right? It seems the Ill. state felon legislators are getting pretty nervous about something. No wonder the proper abbreviation for the place is ILL. It makes me sick and I don't even live there.
Edited to add; I just read the pdf. Those shitheads ARE using the DCFS GESTAPO for this just as I thought! What scum! That is simply treason!

If I ended up having to live in some shyte-hole like that I would pick up a few airsoft toys - broken or anything cheap - and load up a couple boxes of dummy ammo with fired Berdan cases.
That way if somehow I ever got "ratted out" for whatever trumped up charges I would have some crumbs to toss out. "Yes, officer. These are the items they must be referring to."
No way I would leave myself wide open for this sort of totalitarian BS.

wow, i knew IL was bad, but this FOID stuff is news to me. How the hell have the supremes not tossed this?
FOID is an acronym for Firearm Owners Identification. To legally possess or purchase firearms or ammunition, residents of the state of Illinois are required to have a FOID card. (The term is alternatively pronounced "a foid card" or "an F.O.I.D. card".)
The FOID card is issued by the Illinois State Police, who first perform a check of the applicant on the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), an electronic database maintained by the FBI. Grounds for disqualification include a conviction for a felony or for an act of domestic violence, a conviction for assault or battery within the last five years, or being the subject of an order of protection. The police also check an Illinois Department of Human Services database, to disqualify any applicant who has been adjudicated as a mental defective, or who has been a patient of a mental institution within the last five years. Mental health professionals are required to inform state authorities about patients who display violent, suicidal or threatening behavior, for inclusion in the Human Services database. The police may also check other sources of information. There are additional requirements for applicants under the age of 21.
A FOID card must be granted within 30 days from the date the application is received, unless the applicant does not qualify. A new FOID card is valid for ten years. Cards issued prior to June 1, 2008 were valid for five years. Individuals are required to reapply for a new card at least 30 days before their old one expires. The FOID card will be revoked before its expiration if the individual becomes disqualified as described above.
Illinois law requires that, when a firearm is sold by a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder or at a gun show, the seller perform a dial-up inquiry to the State Police to verify that the buyer's FOID card is valid. This additional check is known as the Firearm Transfer Inquiry Program (FTIP).

Lincoln was our first fascist/authoritarian President, so what else can one expect in the "Land of Lincoln"? Perhaps they'll suspend habeas corpus, draft the poor and implement an illegal income tax next, for good measure?

Fortunately the limped wristed pansies from Chitcago can't hurt anyone else until the Nov veto session. They too busy now getting their panties in a wad over the budget. And now more than a few DEMOCRAT members of the house are working up away to impeach der oberfuherer (governor). Has all the makings of a action/adventure paperback!
