Nice. Are guns laws in Italy generally permissive? Any hoops to jump through (registration, licensing, etc.) to own a gun? Can the average citizen own and carry a handgun?

the guns law in italy are severe ..
all firearms must be registered to police..
there 3 type of gun permitts..
a sport permit thet allow to buy 3 handgun,6 sport shooting weapons (handgun or rifle) and a non limits number of huntig weapons..
for italian laws a fal is a hunting weapons,as a Ak47 or a AR15..
a huntig permitt tha allowed to buy the same weapons of sporting permit and also is a huntin licence..
and a carry permitts the allowe dto carry a handgun or a rifle for selfprotection..
this last is very difficult to obtain if yuo are not a membe rof a private security company..
if yuo want more of 3 handugun yuo must have a collector license that allow to have all handgun do yuo want but non ammo for them..
you can transport you weapons to shooting range but non t ready to fire..
and yuo cn ahave only 200 rounds for hand gun and 1500 rounds for rifle at home..
but if you want more you can ask a shoote rlicens efor more ammo..
until 1975 ther was a specific lciens eto colecct automatic weapons but there are frezzed by the antiterrostic law..
every one that have clean crime record and normal mental healt can obtain a sporting licenze after a range course or have a military onorable discarge..
i and my wife both owned a lot of fireamrs..
i life in nort est italy, near the austrian border and here there are a lot of hunting and sporting licenze..
about 50.000 firearms lcienze on 500,00 people..

sounds like I would like your area.

I hope to visit Austria/Germany/Switzerland next year for my daughter's graduation vacation.

Very nice. :fal:
Is it expensive to shoot there?
It's about 50 cents a shot here.

luchs:

My family and I went to visit Bolzano in January, we went skiing at the Gardena Alpe di Siusi for 2 days. I wish I knew about you, we would have come to visit.

Beautiful country and friendly people, very much like New Hampshire in climate. Great food and beer(my sons and I partook liberally). We felt that we were more in Austria than Italy.

Rich

Ma ce cazzo fai? Lo stato in Roma per due anni, ce rotto le palli!

Sorry just having fun. I have an ex brother in law named Nolberti Massimo that did security work in Roma. His son is my godson, Alesio. I cannot find them. Can you help me?
