Same thing here. I just bought an imbel upper on an enfield lower at the gun shop and it came with a butthole stock and am getting rid of the eyesore stock ASAP.

The first thing to do is to determine if you have an inch or metric lower receiver since the furniture is not interchangeable between the two. Mine was stamped "UE" which identified it as an enfield manufactured inch part (I don't know if they made a thumbhole stock for metric receiver).

I looked around quite a bit and was turned on to www.gunthings.com.

The guy I talked to (Brad I think) sells the parts to covert your rifle back to it's original configuration. He seemed really well versed in the work ahead and sells a bushing/stud -$11.00- to replace the one ground off to install to thumbhole stock.

I'm going to put mine together next week. I'll let you know if I have any problems.

i ran into the same problem w/ the century i just got and gunpartsguy said w/ the thumbhole the rifle is legal but if i take it off i have to put 6 us parts to be 922 compliant. 7 if i put a muzzel break on it. it runs the conversion up $ abit from just an $11 stud but what you gonna do.:fal:

Welcome to the world of 922R! He is correct, once you change the gun from its original imported configuration, you must reduce the parts count of "evil" foreign parts with US Parts.

Use a US Stock and pistol grip and that will be two right there.

IF I add a Tapco stock, pistol grip and fore end does that count as three and also the gun has a B-Square mount that replaces the dust cover does that count as 1 ??

Sorry, the dust cover does not count. Order a Falcon HTS for 3 easy pieces and an a better trigger. I went with the FSE HST. but they are no longer available.

There, I did that from memory. Someone will be along to correct me if I got any wrong. Not all parts are available as made in the USA. I did a build sheet that will keep you legal a few years ago and tell you if there is a US made Substitute. There is no way to post it here. If you want a copy IM me your email address.

Here is the chart as a Pic. This is what I used for my build. Please consult the BATF or your Attorney/Gunsmith for legal advice.
