Depends what lower you are going to use. The STG stock will fit any metric lower except the rare type As. It will not fit a commonwealth ( inch ) lower.
Of course, either type of lower will work om the upper.

Most ordinary metric furniture (stock/grip) will not fit on an inch-pattern lower without very labor-intensive, and skilled, modifications.
If you want metric stocks/grips, it is much simpler to install an entire metric lower.
If your current inch-pattern lower has US-made, inch-pattern, fire control parts, you should be able to sell it and easily recoup the costs of a metric lower. Inch-pattern fire-control parts are scarce, and in high demand.

If you are wanting to replace the crappy Century furnature (like I did) you might look for a set of British "Maranyl" (black nylon) stocks. This does raise havoc with the compliant parts count, however.
Better yet, a set of wood stocks. Wish I knew where to find some.
Placing a WTB for a complete metric lower in the market place may turn up what you want. Likely have to install a FCG for parts compliance.

Not to hijack the thread, but does the reverse work? I have a metric lower and it seems I can find more and cheaper wood buttstocks for it (something I've been wanting to do) if I look at the L1A1 furniture
