View Full Version : Best mount for Aimpoint M2 on an M1A?

Saving $$$ for an aimoint compM2 or something similar for my M1A. I have a SA 3rd gen mount with the big knobs, whats out there that's smaller, less bulky for this relatively smaller sight?

I've been thinking of using a cartridge clip guide scope mount base like one of these to mount an Aimpoint ML2 2x:

I've seen photos of Aimpoints (and maybe compact ACOGs) mounted with one of these.

If you like Scout setups, a forward mounted Aimpoint would work. The Ultimak mount is supposed to co-witness with an Aimpoint.

The Springfield, Inc. scout mount clamps to the barrel and mounts an optic forward of the receiver. Perfect for the Aimpoint. The standard aimpoint ring is the right height.

How about the old style ARMS mount.

A cantelever'ed mount seems like it would fit nice on the front mounting point.

Very funny! Where do you FIND one of those nowadays??

In my opinion, the only mount that's more desirable is the LRB M25 receiver!

They turn up. I am not the original owner of this one.

Patience! Use the Force.

By the time I save up... maybe I'll run across one! Thanks for the good ideas.

I use Sadlak scope mount and LaRue RAS II Aimpoint mount, the RAS II mount is lower than the standard AR type mount. One thing to be aware of is grease splatter with the open type mounts, not sure how big a problem it would be but I have heard of it happening.
