View Full Version : fal receivers.
Anyone have a source list for FAL receivers? It seems those I used in the past no longer have them available. I have a light barrel and a heavy barrel I am going to finish. Thanks.....llc

you can order new ones through:
DSA
Entreprise Arms
Century Arms
expect a wait with DSA or Entreprise (shorter with Entreprise). Century I'm not sure about current availability.

FYI...
It isn't called a class 3 receiver... They are the Type 3 receiver pattern, as opposed to type 1 and 2 (variations in internal and external machining cuts)
...unles you are referring to post dealer stuff.
They're are also Entreprise (r before e...).
(edited to correct my miserable spelling.... glass houses and all)

also, i bought a new century r1a1 and i had to send it back to the factory for they to hopefully fix their reciever. they cut the feed ramps too deep and the point of the round jams into the bottom of the barrel and does'nt feed properly, my luck.

sorry.
I want to help everyone for their help, I now have an Imbel gear and have found another I will pick up this weekend......Ask and ye shall receive.....llc
I've built six FALs. two with DSA receivers and four with century receivers.
with the centruy receivers I got two with only one ramp and i had to send them back.
I found a dealer in Fort Worth Tx. who has the right century receivers. He comes to the hosuton gun shows (at lease two of the three.) I check out the century receivers and if they have the widows peak I buy them.
On the two receivers I brought from DSA, they didn't tell me they were on back order till I asked about two months later.
other than that they seem to be a little tight, I had to use a smaller locking pin on them then I've used on the centurys
This is the first time that I've done an inch lower.

After reading some of the information on the Entreprise receivers I decided to make the call and purchase one. I now have an Imbel Gear, an Imbel, and to my surprise today I received the one from Entreprise. Matt had advised me it would be 4 to 5 weeks but obviously he made things happen. I have compared the Entreprise to the two Imbels and if anything the Entreprise comes out a bit ahead in the finish. Although I will not be assembling the rifle for a couple weeks I just had to install a few parts to see how things were going to work. I can see right now it is going to be a pleasure to finish up when I have the time. Smooth and tight. The final proof will be in the firing but at this time I am sure life is going to be good..............llc
