View Full Version : STG58 Questions
I have an STG58 barrel with a gas tube only maybe 5 inches sticking out of the front sight assembly. It appears to be permanent though. It is definitely not as long as the extra one in my parts box. Is this correct? Do I need to get a special sping/piston for it?

Is the shorter one broken?
What is your barrel length?

Looks right to me.
Standard piston & spring will work fine.
Thanks, was that common that the STG's did not have full length gas tubes? So , the piston and spring were exposed a bit?

The StG58 came with a short Gas Tube that was Siver Soldered in place and what you have is the way it came as issued. It takes the standard Gas Piston and Spring:fal:
Embrace the short tube! on your STG that is LOL!
Makes it so much easier to clean and is much more gas efficient too!
