Hey All: WOW what an experience. I have wanted a FAL type rifle for many years. This past Christmas I was fortunately able to make it happen. Thanks to the DSA website,I was able to do a lot of research as to what type I wanted.
After all ,this is a fairly large investment(according to my wife) heheheheh.
I decided on the DSArms SA58 standard(21" barrel) with a versapod bipod, the full float foreguard, and the extreme duty scope mount(rail). Currently I'm looking for a good set of raised scope rings so I can still use the iron sights.
A buddy of mine and I broke the barrel in 3 weeks ago(5 APR 08)on Remington Express core-lock 150gr.(figure I'd use the good stuff),I need not say how impressed I was with it's performance.VERY tight weapon!!!
2 weeks ago I sighted it in at 100 Yds with Privi Partisan FMJ 145 gr. The only difference I encountered between the Rem.and the PP was the pressure.I had to adjust the gas system 1 click lower(from 6 to 5) to get it to function correctly.
NO BIGGIE!! Pretty gusty winds that day but I got consistant 1.5" groups.
AWESOME
Anyway.....I just want to say HOWDY to all you folks out there!!! I have been kickin around all the threads here and really am amazed at all the info and opinion.I'm positive that it will all sink in....someday.....hehehehe
I also am the proud owner of a 1944 M1 carbine made by IBM corp. and a series 80 Colt 1911. Will be lookin at the 1911 threads soon.
Once again....happy to be a new member at this OUTSTANDING site!!!
