Just picked this up from "ickmann". It is the L1A1-F1 (PNG) copy he had for sale. I absolutely love this thing.

Not really. I bought the Imbel as a parts kit. Eventually, the Imbel and G1 received a receiver swap via the armorer at a local shop. The G1 was built with a GL Imbel receiver originally. I wanted the Imbel receiver for the Imbel build, so I bought a DSA Type 1 receiver for the G1. I swapped out the receiver internals myself. Unfortunately, I have not the tools to build a FAL. I can do everything to an AR except install the barrel on the upper receiver. Space on my workbench is at a premium. I still love my FALs and I respect the people who put the time into building them.

Hey Renegade, no shame in not building your own! I have built some, which turned out great, bought some and farmed some out to gunsmiths. It's all a matter of resources. If you are only going to have a few the tools cost more than farming out the work. I have the tools, but sometimes not the time.
BTW, that is one FINE rifle you got! Had I the money right now, I'd have tried to beat you to that one:rofl: Enjoy it!

Thanks Dave. I was going to try and get up with you on the Imbel/G1 receiver swaps, but time was not permitting. It would have good to do the work myself with some assistance. It is all good though. :)
