So I decided to work on my stainless 10/22 out of boredom, but the thing ended up turning into a real tack driver. The first thing I did was loosen up the trigger pull a little bit, my girlfriends dad told me that his valquartzen trigger costs more than the gun did. So i said forget that and I stoned the hammer sear a little bit. The trigger ended up turning out really nice, it has a little bit of creep but I kinda like a little bit of creep in my triggers anyway. Next I replaced that bolt buffer with one of those nylon ones, not sure what it did, maybe the gun is a little less noisy during recoil, but thats about it. After that I bought a green mountain 16" fluted SS barrel. I am really impressed with it, super accurate, however you cant shoot stingers with it. To compliment the barrel I DID NOT want a thumb hole stock. This gun is made to still run around with, so i ended up buying the hogue overmolded stock. It is essentially the same exact thing as there rubber pistol grips. I like it and it holds nicely. I tried jeweling the bolt, it actually looks kinda cool you can tell from the pictures. Over all the gun turned out pretty nice, shoots better than I expected, im thinking about maybe buying a thumb hole stock and doing a competition sometime. That is after I replace that horrible aimpoint red-dot thats on it. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa113/gregparret/SN850174.jpg

Not really my style, Greg. But to each his own. Workmanship looks good, glad you got the results you wanted. Your username may have prevented some replies. Some may be uncomfortable replying to "manstallion"............

Jeezus THANK GOODNESS someone said what I was THINKING...
Dude the Manstallion thing is about as Fuggin GAY as it could be..
I would have to agree that you will get few replies here.. Maybe you would get more action on the PINKPISTOLS site??
As far as the 10/22 goes if your happy that's what counts.. Don't know if I dig the scope but that's just me.. The 10/22's have been tweeked for a Long time and I would recommend an extended MAG release and if you did not already do so modify the BOLT release as well...

Haha, yea sorry about the name, It was more or less given to me, back in highschool. The scope meh it was just an old school aimpoint. One of my buddies is trading me for a japanese scope, I forget the name of it, but when i looked through it was crystal clear. I'm not sure I might actually break down and put a thumbhole stock on it and do a .22 competition here pretty soon, those are fun.

Those old Aimpoints work better if you just screw that polarizing filter out and throw it away.

Well, Mr Stallion dude it looks like you did some nice work there, I like that jeweled bolt. Like they say, .22s are pretty passe around here, but I bet most if not all have .22s around for cheap practice and small critter actions. And like the man said, ya gotta start somewhere. I wish you good luck and advise that you keep shooting and keep tinkering too... lotta the guys here have built their own FALS from kits, so you arent alone. Dont be scairt or run off, there's a lot to learn around here.

Mr. Stallion,
I stumbled into one of those stocks and really like it.
I like the jewelled bolt. I might try that.
What was the problem with Stingers? Did they just not
print good groups or was it cycling problems?
Good job.
