It's great that CZ took them and kept them in production. But based on the website, they're only producing five different models (three 1911 autos and two revolvers). All retailed well over $1000.
What the hell? Is that what it takes to keep them in production? During what I would consider their peak, Dan Wesson had a fairly diverse product line. While they weren't cheap, they also weren't nosebleed expensive.

I know!
I got my model 15 HV for 250 out the door, excellent condition, have a spare barrel for it and everything.
The prices are like that, I think, because right now they're targeting a very, very limited market and CZ is also involved.
Parts are still cheap, though- my new 4 inch HV barrel was like...120 plus shipping. Took them about 4 weeks, they make the barrels as you order them.
expect prices to drop if they ever bring out the more basic models- last I looked they were all in the specialty cartridges with all of the bells and whistles on them.
My dan wesson is one of my favorite guns, by far. Accurate as hell, barrel can be swapped, takedown is super easy due to hex screws and modular construction, grip swapping is great (no backstrap)....glad I got mine on the cheap! It's a monson production gun, but not one of the problem ones.

I got an 8" barrel and shroud for my 44 and it must've been made in the Norwich days just before the CZ deal. It looks awesome with the laser engraving technique or whatever it is.
I actually tried to get a complete revolver from that phase of Dan Wesson but all of the local dealers would complain about doing business with DW.

Been on S&W's website lately? I just was there and new revolvers from them are retailing (their prices) at around a grand for the sexy models. I'm sure there deals on them out there but whoa:eek:
Glad I bought mine years ago for 350 OTD.
