WTK info RE:SAR 48

Does anyone have dates of Mfg by serial number for SAR 48's. Also what can you expect to pay for one? Thanks for any info.

I don't have serial number ranges. However, I purchaced my first SAR 48 back in the mid '80s, and I believe they were making them (or rather importing them) in the early '80s, then when the AW ban went in (94 I think it was??) They reconfigured them to the SAR 4800 series to make them post ban compliant. I believe if you give Springfield Armory a call they can give you hard data.

Woulda been the 89 import ban that caused Springfield to change the configuration.
