I 've noticed on a few barrels, that I've taken off of early Century builds from Canada, the prefix "CF" in the serial #. Now I know that Century stamped "Made in Canada" on the lowers, but this "CF" mark is factory.

Does this mark denote a barrel for a C1A1 ? The first thing I thought was that "CF" stood for Canadian Forces.

Yes..I do have alot of time on my hands today.

CF doesn't stand for "Canadian Forces", it's found on British barrels and in that case there would be a heap of other markings including the part number for the barrel assembly 960-0006. At this stage I'm not sure what it means, it might indicate chroming of the barrel or chamber or the form of rifling.

When I do find out I'll let you know

Are you able to give me a complete list of ALL the markings you can find on the barrel?

Just been informed that CF on British L1A1 barrels stands for Corby Foundries

This is the steel company that manufacturered the barrel blank.
