Got a SA NM on the way and would like to know of anyone with the new Leatherwood scope mount, and how it compares with Springfield Armory's?

ARMS #18 will ONLY work with in-spec receivers, i.e. mounting grooves proper width, depth, and location of stripper guide and groove distance from front of receiver, etc. Out-of-spec receivers/ARMS#18 cause windage runout with your scope. See Sadlak (http://www.sadlak.com/si_home.html) web site for dimensional drawings to check your receiver (calipers required along with steady hand). SA, Inc. receivers are reputed to not uncommonly be out of spec. I have SA, Inc. receiver, ser. no. 74xxx, with all HRA parts and it is in-spec and mounts the ARMS#18 as intended. Sadlak also sells mounts for out of spec receivers, will match your receiver and mount for nominal fee, sells a measuring kit to check grove dimensions, etc. The Leatherwood is supposed to be windage adjustable to allow for out of spec receivers. I've only used ARMS#18 and don't have personal experience with the Sadlak or Leatherwood.

go to ar15.com and look under the ar15 community tab, do a search and you should get a few hits with someone that already has one.
