caliber .223 cal. Winchester AND 5.56 mm NATO
:? I though .223 was ".223 Remington"?

@ 8lbs, shooting .223/5.56 in this thing must be like shooting 22LR, .... very, very loud 22LR.

As Mosin said.........

A friend of mine took the plunge and after it not zeroing, problems cycling, etc.....he called Red Rock and complained....Red Rock exchanged the weapon and it wasn't any better..... after many complaining phone calls and some threats from both sides he sent weapon back for a refund minus a restocking fee.... I would stay away from it myself. Better off buying a used or building a new AR15 for less money and better reliabilty and accuracy... just my .02

"....... aluminum receiver is machined from a solid bar to exacting specifications in the U.S."

I've heard this somewhere before........

It says its "blowback operated"? Thats going to be fun on a .223R rifle. Wonder if its a typo.

Red Rock = Special Weapons = Bobcat = very bad rep for quality and hilariously bad customer service....:skull: :skull: :skull:

Perfection - easy to copy, harder to duplicate.

I'm asking because I don't know.....

Did Ruger have similar problems with the Mini-14 through its development?

It could simply be that the scaled down design still needs a bit of polishing and is not yet ready for prime time.

I saw one at a range in SC a few weeks ago. The guy was having so many problems with it I did not have the heart to approach him.

Based on my observation I would say that it is a good FAL wall hanger, if you have limited wall space.

Well, the complete sentence states:

The ATR is blowback operated, with a stationary barrel and gas piston operated breech block unlocking system.

I bought one several months ago, a low ser. #.....this could take awhile.... The first cycling problem is they forgot to put the spring in the bolt hold open and it burred the bolt and jumped over the rounds. The 2nd time it went back for non-function was ejection problems. They sent it back to me the next day and still no function. For the 3rd time returning it to them, I called their gunsmith and explained the problem and my suggestion to make it work, I sent it back. This time as I was told, they replaced the gas tube, reworked the "2nd" bolt, polished the chamber(why I don't know) and still the same problem. Finally they redesigned the extractor (what I suggested would fix it) and it functioned for "them". When I took it to the range after the 3rd time it was repaired it was better but still did not cycle. Needless to say I sent it back for the forth time. We will see.
Don't expect the owner to call you back. It will NOT happen but their gunsmith is exceptionally helpful. Especially if you are experienced with the function of FAL rifles.
Anyone out there with one e-mail me. I would like to know how many they have sold.:fal:

May I ask where you purchased yours from Barry Johnson?

I was looking at one on Atlantic's website. I know they have great customer service. Laurer's has them cheaper than Atlantic. I had hoped they were better than what I'm hearing.

Someday, DSA will come out with a .223 FAL.

I can wait.

I hate to say it, but the new Sig 556 is actually a little better than the SAR 4800 in 223 IMHO and it's a lot more reliable. I expect the new FN to be better still so the 223 market is getting kind of crowded.

You are full of shit. Red Rock, formerly Bobcat, is Andy Bonus. Speshul Wepunz is Todd Bailey. Bobcat Weapons at one time built 94 clones using the SW receiver, as did Vector Arms. Is Vector Arms Special Weapons? I think Jayson at IGF built a 94 clone on a SW receiver - so he must be Todd Bailey too? I refinished a couple SW rifles, so I guess that makes me Todd Bailey as well.

They aren't even in the same city, you slandering dumb-ass.

I personally have no use for a .223 FAL. But in the time I spent visiting Andy's shop, I came away with the belief that he is serious about putting out a good product, and has exercised due care in testing the system. I have personally watched his zombie slaves loading hundreds of magazines for the torture test and I helped him acquire the "blue pill" proof rounds.

Your absolutely right gunplumber but Andy is just as bad. Don't believe me, ask him, he knows my name. Ask him about 4x's repairs on the first rifle. Then ask him how many times one the second rifle. And when your finished, ask him why he refuses to deal with my issues since last October which is how long he's ignored me. I can't waint to find more excuses to slam his ass in ink! I'm guessing Cort has left completely.
