California Assembly to Consider Severe
Restrictions on Ammunition Sales!
Stand Up and Make Your Voice Heard Today!

Next Wednesday, March 25, the Assembly Public Safety Committee will consider legislation that would require gun owners to obtain a “permit-to-purchase” before buying handgun ammunition.

Introduced by State Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), Assembly Bill 2062 puts ammunition sales in the crosshairs. AB2062 would require that law-abiding gun owners obtain a permit to buy handgun ammunition and would impose severe restrictions on the private transfers of handgun ammunition. Applicants for a “permit-to-purchase” would be required to submit to a background check, pay a $35 fee, and wait as long as 30 days to receive the permit.

Under AB2062, it would be unlawful to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require vendors to keep a record of the transaction including the ammunition buyer’s name, driver’s license, the quantity, caliber and type of ammunition purchased, and right thumbprint, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice or the number of his handgun ammunition purchase permit. Vendors would be required to contact the purchase permit database, to verify the validity of a permit before completing a sale. All ammunition sales in the State of California would be subject to a $3 per transaction tax. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. Any violator of AB2062 would be subject to civil fines.

Please contact the members of the Assembly Public Safety Committee AND your State Assembly Member TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose this onerous attack on our Second Amendment freedoms. Why can't the PRK just slip into the ocean?

Actually, that's not a new idea. Stalin was the first. You could get ammo, then had to return the casings to the police or you were arrested. Charming similarity, eh?

Then the authorities will spend even more manpower on checkpoints and stops to intercept ammo buyers. The same manpower and resources that they cannot spend on intercepting illegals, illegal drugs, and gangs.

Wonder what they'll classify as "handgun" ammunition- if they do they whole "used in pistols" things, the t/c series just screwed everyone in the PRK over.

Kalifornia will drop their fruit fly inspection points, and institute ammo checkpoints along the roads..

Californians need to start litigating (challenging) the constitutionality of each and every restriction. Odds are that they will be at least 40% successful....but as they say......"You have to be in it to win it!" time to pool resources and get in the game.

It amazes me the idiocy of these lawmakers - you have illegal immigrants and illegal drugs flooding through the borders and yet you want one more item smuggled in to be used by gang members, drug dealers, and other criminals. So much of the police force is being taken away reinforcing all the banned items and other socialist regulations that law enforcement and tax base is stretched so thin as to endanger the unarmed population. Socialist idiots...

And I sometimes, in certain circles, get slammed for being anti-government. When will California replace the state flag with the hammer and cycle?

True. As if they are never challenged then we will always be screwed.

And as we all know, the Left wing never gives up. No matter how many
anti-gun laws have been passed, its never enuf. The only time they will
stop is when all gun ownership has been eradicated. But even then, they
will migrate to banning knives, toy guns, bats, ect. They never stop.

Just ask the United Kingdom.

Also, your dealing with the PRC and that type of jury pool, should we challenge
them in court. if successful, then it will be appealed and go before an "activist"
judge. And overturned.

On the federal level: The 9th Circus Court of Appeals??? Oh Lord. They are so
deranged that 2/3 of all their cases that get appealed to the US Supreme Court
get overturned.

On the State level: You have activist judges like the one that just ruled in favor
of gay marraige. That despite fact the people of the State of California soundly
defeated gay marriage when they pased proposition 22.

Just remember that when we all walk out of the voting booth and they give us
one of those cute little stickers to wear thats says; "I voted".

yeah,..we showed them:rolleyes:

Multi-million dollar lobbyists and "activist judges" will decide all our fates and damn
our votes.

The only thing the vote is these days is an opinion poll. End of story. Highly paid
lobbyists who bribe politicians, NON-governmental organizations who want to be
our government ((NGOs)), and activist judges,...their mission is to do anything
BUT, what we all voted for. Or else none of them would exist.

besides,...I see little to no lawsuits nor court challenges coming from gun owners.
Awfully quiet out there. The cricketts are chirping while are gun rights slip down
the storm drain.
