I got some of that .308 MAL on links and have no idea how to de-link it easily. Is there a simple way?

Yup. Hook em up to a .308 Browning and let er rip.

Sorry! It's been one of those days...

I just finished de-linking several hundred rounds of RG. The first round took several minutes, the rest went quickly. I took a pair of channel lock pliers, grab a link while holding the rounds and twist. Regular pliers work, but the channel locks were better. Try different holds and soon you will have a great big pile of links sitting beside you. Full auto would be quicker of course.

I delinked 800 rounds by taking a pair of slip joint pliers and grasping the cartridge case at the neck and pulled the cartridge from the link. Worked great and is easier than pushing them out with you fingers. don't apply too much pressure when grasping the case. Use just enough to pull the shell from the link.

forget the pliers man, there are two easy ways, get a piece oh wood, and either press the tip, while holding the link stub on one side and the other rounds on the other side of the round youre taking out,or easier, press the base of the round (perpindicular to the wood, use like .5 inch plywood or corner/edge of 2x4)and press it out, this is how the weapon strips them,it will come out of the lock and you can easily pull the round the rest of the way out.this is fast and easier on the fingers, and no plier marks.

The Maylasian comes on 4 round segments. The easy way to de-link 4 at a time is to lay one of the strips on a scrap piece of 2x6 (or any other piece of scrap big enough). Drive nails in between each cartridge, right behind the link. Now push on the tips with another strip of wood. Repeat with a new strip. It shucks 4 at a time instead of 1. I got a bunch of the Maylasian when century had it on sale for $100/1000 shipped and is shoots great, but I had to de-link it all.

Thanks Guys, some good ideas here. If I can get this stuff de-linked fairly easily Iam gonna get some more. 4 at a time sounds like the way to go Uncle Buck.I will try it tomorrow.

After 20 years on a Tank (We used M240 MG's) The easiest way to delink is push the rounds out from back to front. Uncle buck has the right idea but try it back to front. they com out much easier that way. there's a flat catch on the back of the links to keep the rounds from backing out. so pushing them forward is easier. But I still like the idea of warming up the old M240 MG to delink. HEHEHE

Take care
