I know the Chinese (Norinco?) produced some corrosive .308, pretty easy to spot, it is steel cased. Doesn't shoot badly, though. Seems like I remember seeing an ad in SGN a couple years back for some Cz (?) .308 which was corrosive, but not sure on that one.

OK, found the old issue of SGN, can't throw em away, they are valuable reference materials (at least that's what I tell the wife!), SAMCO had some Czech, Sellier & Bellot 7.62X51 that is advertised as corrosive. Says it was mfgd 1980-83. It's something to watch out for, doesn't mean you shouldn't shoot it, just need to know whether or not it is corrosive. I wouldn't buy it though, unless it was just absolutely dirt cheap, with the low prices of other non-coorosive surplus, the extra cleanup for the corrosive stuff just isn't worth it, at least to me, but then, I am lazy.

I ordered some Indian made .308 from Century about a year ago, a week after I received the ammo they then sent me a partial refund and told me it was corrosive. I had fired about 200 round in my L1A1. after finding out I gave it a good cleaning and luckily no harm done. By the way it shot fine so I kept it for use in a .308 Indian Enfield I have.
