$1000...How much of the value is due to its NIB unfired condition (how much would it go for if it had been fired a little)?

Reason I am asking is I would like to get a M14 to shoot, so I don't want to pay a lot extra for NIB condition.

$1000 is too much in my book. There is one on GB that did not sell for $800. The last 2 I looked at on GB sold around $750.

Thanks...that sounds like a more realistic ballpark.

With the recent drought in 7.62 NATO many good battle rifles are going cheap.

I see quite a few of these at $800 and less.

Good rifles.

Yes these are good rifles.

These rifles are easily worth $1000 compared to whats out there. The Recievers alone are worth more than that. But they are only going for $800 or less so why pay $1000 for it? :) To bad I was not into M14's in the early 90's when you can get a NIB one for $400

I want one but I think I am gonna get out of the M14 game. Just keep one M14 EBR and that's it.

Fortunately I have at least 7K rounds of .308 stashed, all bought at 18 cents/round or less for my FAL, so that is one reason why a M14 appeals to me...I can still shoot it relatively cheaply, whereas with something like a Garand or an M1 Carbine I would be starting from scratch on ammo.
