Yep, Bob can shoot. Accurate and Fast. I've seen him  Of course Joe's no slouch either. Fastest scatter gun in the west at FAL Fest.

Holy crap! How much ammo do you need at these matches? I've never been to one, but you must havfta throw out a lot of lead to win!

That's cause he had already staged the rifle and picked up the shotgun. Note the FAL mag carrier on his left hip with one mag missing. When the shotgun piece is finished (in this particular stage) the pistol goes to work. But you don't always shoot all three guns in one stage - unless Tactical Tim is the stage designer; in which case you better have a really strong belt.

xd - A stage (usually three or so in a match) can be 15 or 20 shots or way more - just depends on the designer. It also depends on how many you miss and need to make-up.

Coulter6 has been kicking butt lately - that's why I'm spending more time on the skeet range. :D

Where do you 3-gun at? Im hoping to start when I move out this fall to Colorado. Do they have beginners matches or events that I could participate in to at least learn the ropes :)?

Myers,

The Albuquerque bunch does 3-Gun matches on the 2nd Sunday and 4th Saturday of each month. Some of the matches are geared toward the tricked out A/Rs and can be fairly difficult, but can still be shot by a novice (you just won't score very well, but no biggie). Tim says the one for tomorrow will be iron sight friendly and geared more for FALs, etc. I'm simi-retired from three-gun cause I'm shooting tournament skeet this year. (Also getting fat and lazy.)

~4 times a year when there is a 5th Saturday, we do a MSR (Military Surplus Rifle) Match which is a more laid back course of fire and geared for the older military bolt guns (Mausers, K31s, etc) as well as Iron Sight surplus rifles like the M1, M1A, FALs, etc. This is a good place for someone to get their feet wet and is for rifle only. It's generally for surplus rifles and iron sights, but you can what ya got (scoped A/Rs, etc.) for funzies and practice.

Steel jacket and/or steel core ammo (especially 8mm and 7.62x39) is not allowed since we shoot a lot of expensive metal swingers and gongs.

Non Members can shoot if they come as a guest of a ZIA member.

Myers:

Ya could do a helluva lot worse than just watching T Tim, Coulter6 or Shootist shoot a course!
Exciting, entertaning AND educational. Smooth, fast AND accurate.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have bumbled alongside these fellas at FF I and II. I missed a lot (targets) and learned a lot :D Others in attendance were mighty quick also. but memory, time and space prevent listing them all.

Best,
Paul
