I have one quick question.....why won't my catch lever retaining screw go in flush with the back of the lover receiver like it was when I removed it? It seems to "bottom out" and has a few threads protruding that don't allow the rear butt stock to go on completely? I'm sure this is something simple that I am overlooking. Would you have any idea why this is happening? I can post a pic if needed. This is on an STG58 kit with the original butt stock.
Thanks, CaptMax

I don't know but while your waiting for the answer use a small drill and make sure there's no build up in the hole.
BTW: Where's EM or Radio,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this is in the wrong dam place.

It is the small combination set screw/retaining pin just below the retaining catch body on the back of the receiver. CaptMax
I will see if i can see anything such as debris down in that tiny hole.

That or botched threads would be my only thoughts.
Good luck

As far as I can tell this retaining screw/pin only serves one purpose, to retain the catch release from sliding out of the side of the receiver. I've decided to file away a small amount from it until it sets flush, thus allowing me to install the butt stock. Thanks for the help XHardrock. If I'm wrong about this let me know and I will order another retaining screw and try something else!!!

This seemed to take care of it. As long as the retaining screw/pin goes into the groove on the release latch and keeps it from sliding out I'm good correct? CaptMax
