Got a Kimber sporterized Swedish Mauser in 6.5X55. This may be the round that NATO should have chosen to chamber the FAL, M-14, and the M-16 in.

It is very hard to beat the 6.5x55 ... or the 276 the Garand was supposed to use?...... flame suit on

Not even any warmth here. The 6.5x55 is an excellent round. I use an old96 made in 1901 .Thats my deer sniper weapon.

On a wim, I entered the military bolt gun match at Camp Perry last year and used my M-95 Swede mouser. It's a tac driver and I shot gold! I was so suprised. What a fantastic gun and round.

.260 Remington is also a great round, uses the high BC 6.5 bullet in a package that's a roll your own dream.

I shoot my CG 63 swede mauser in the local Big Bore League. I ain't the best, but I'm better than many with tricked out match rifles.

adog58, are all the '63's on the market now pretty much the same?
a local shop has a few, but there about 100 dollars higher than sarco's
the best price i seen so far is from canada, but im sure its a hassle buying from there

Ive got a Swede 96 made in 1912, with the long barrel. All original but the bolt does not match, shoots good. I bought it for prairie doggin and such like prairie land sports. Would it be destroying an antique to drill it to install a scope? This would make it a lot more useable. Wish I coulda spent the money to get one of those Swede snipers....
