Anyone have a list of where one can get parts for an M1A / M14? I'd like to make a sticky of such information.

I for one need a good M1A/M14 Receiver (Fulton Armory?) and a Barrel. I picked up a M1A-14 Kit off ebay or gunbroker many moons ago and would eventually like to build it. So now we also need information on Building the M1A-14.

Jen,
Thank you for this forum, it's great to have a spot to discuss my two favorite rifles on the Files!

First and foremost, the best reference site for M14s:

Vendors of high repute (I have not dealt with):

M14 Magazines, Current Production USGI (CMI):
http://www.44mag.com

Hit and Miss Vendors (You might get commercial or Chinese parts):
http://www.e-gunparts.com/
http://www.sarcoinc.com/

Manufacturers of new USGI quality M14 parts:

ARMSCORPUSA web (http://armscorpusa.com/Products/m14parts.html)

I got my receiver from them and was very satisfied.

I bought a USGI parts kit from Sarco a few months back. It came with a new Citadel barrel and a beat up fiberglass stock. I added a wood stock, a DMR barrel (factory second, I suspect), and an unissued TRW stripped bolt.

If you want it, I will sell it $1000 shipped

Fulton Armory has no source at this time for receivers. Armscorp was making it's receivers, but is under new ownership. The new company, James River Armory is coming out with forged receivers shortly. They are supposed to be in the $750 price range! They had an ad in "Shotgun News" late last month with some really great prices on their Armscorp marked cast receivers. (under $400) Very good quality, good builds according to the firing line members who have a group build with special marked receivers from them.

As for barrels, get a Criterion either from LRB: http://lrbarms.com/parts.html
Or from Warbird: http://www.warbirdscustomguns.com/COLLECTOR%20ITEMS%20&%20PX%20EXCHANGE.htm
Their chrome lined barrels are better, more consistent, generally more accurate than what you'll find in the USGI surplus market. Lot's of junk floating around out there, it's a crap shoot as to quality and wear.

Sorry I missed that one, I've dealt with jywolfe/M14-parts.com plenty of times! I'm updating my original post, and vouching for this vendor's integrity.

I've built 8 rifles using Armscorp Cast receivers and theyv'all worked... the USGI winchester barrels were very tight so had to put some as$ into the receiver wrench to come TDC but they work... Parts are getting harder to come by, but they are out there... Springfield inc receivers are cast also. cast receivers are fine, forged is nice or better but not worth the extra coin in my opinion... Build on a LRB receiver. Send it to Warbird or Ted Brown. You'll never regret either of those decisions, and you'll eventually learn why.

Champions Choice has Springfield Armory receivers in stock.

The Armscorp is a great deal though, if you can get one of the good one's, not the Sarco seconds that have "problems" you are good to go.
Numrich was selling Armscorp receivers as well, some of the old stock. They may still have some.

GPC no longer has them either as they sold out about 2-3 weeks ago or so.

Let the buyer beware: They are marking some as TRW-see the one in the photo on down:
http://www.rwbllc.com/
Also there is information that there will be an un-named vendor with a lot of TRW op rods, from this source to sell. Fakes of course.
The question is, what is the quality and price of the non-fake marked ones going to be?
