Tried out my STG-58 built on a US made
DSA receiver with some lighter loads.
To reduce the recoil for my girlfriend I did some loads using 110gr
round nose FMJ bullets intended for the M1 carbine,
and some 125gr loads using Remington bullets.
For both loads I used once fired Win USA brass and 45gr of
IMR4320.
Both loads functioned the semi-auto action of the
FAL properly, and put the recoil at a tolerable level
for my girlfriend Sharon. I got 3 1/2" groups at 100yds with the
110gr load and 1 1/2" groups with the 125gr load.
Sharon impressed some other guys at the range with
5 for 5 on the 150 yards gong with the .308 FAL
and 110gr bullets.
I was surprised the FAL ate the short carbine
bullets without a bobble, and returned good accuracy with both loads.
