I have a suppressor with a Nielson device in 9mm that I use on my Glock 19 which works fine with factory ammo. Since subsonic 147gr is such a PITA to find, I decided to load my own. I started with 3.0gr of Hodgdon Universal powder and a max load of 3.3gr per their website.
The 3.0gr doesn't even come close to operating the action, and the 3.3gr ejects the spent case but will not push the slide back far enough so the next round is picked up and loaded correctly.
The 3.3gr shows a working pressure of 31,000CUP, but other 147 rounds show a working max pressure as high as 33,800CUP.
I know if I call Hodgdon, they'll tell me not to exceed their specs, and not to go over 3.3gr.
I was considering testing a few more rounds of 3.4 and 3.5 to see if the gun will function. Does anyone have any other ideas to fix this problem?
Thanks,
M2MG
