Over the next few weeks we'll be adding FAQ information to this forum. If you have any suggestions or questions which you feel need to be in the FAQs section, please post them here (You can either post both a question and an answer, or Just the question if the answer needs to be researched etc..).

Thanks!

Some FAQs... Why won't the CAI bolt hold back work? (Appearantly the British cut it short to keep sand out of the chamber by not allowing the bolt to stay open). Why won't my Hesse receiver work? (Because it's Hesse). What is the best receiver available? (Imbel/DSA) Why won't my CAI FAL variant cycle rounds? (usually because of a bent U.S. gas piston). Is my reciever Inch or metric? (big or little magazine retension slot). Who can refinish or fix my FAL variant? (All the FALsmiths we now and love). Where do I get U.S. made wood funiture? (I dunno untill Ironwood starts up(Add six monthes to what they tell you)).
P.S I have nothing against Hesse.
Bubba.

I'm brand spanking new to FAL's and in looking into purchasing one (or kit) my first questions were.
Difference in L1A1 VS STG58 (and or others)?
Metric VS Inch (including magazines)?
Type 1 VS Type 3 Receivers?
L1A1 VS FAL/STG Magazines?
South Africa VS Austrian kits?
How to mount scope on FAL/STG58?
Can you re-thread Barrel to mount muzzle brake?
What is ejector block?

Methods to refinish both wood and plastic stocks.

Why doesn't my R1 kit have a carry handle?

How many US parts?

Good ideas all.

BTW: my Hesse doesn't suck! Is it supposed to? It does, however, shoot the heck outta most anything I give it!

Flash hiders, why they are illegal to use;ie grenade launcher, flash, so on, also how to 'demil', barrel threads, what you can and can't have. Selector switch questions,'is it illegal to use f/a selector'. differences between inch, metric and izzy models. Rear sights, diopter, hythe, inch folder, para models. Mag releases, difference between metric and inch. Stock, hand guard and pistol grips metric inch and izzy styles and compatability. How to adjust trigger pull on inch and metric models. Have the cut for full auto welded. That way if the selector is all the way foreward the trigger won't move and the gun can't fire. A $99.00 kit I got from fed arms came like this.

Another faq: What is the best FAL for the money? Answer: A VG kit and an Imbel reciever assembled by one of our FALsmiths or a DSA. Eveything else has a risk to it.

Also: As brought up below, What is the definition of the NRA quality rating?
